You may be wondering where these figures came from, especially since they aren't the same numbers that you may have seen published in books and magazines over the years. These figures were collected from official Ford production records through the courtesy of Marti Auto Works! Please note also that the 1969 Dearborn production total is 470 units less than published in Kevin Marti's book Mustang . . . by the Numbers. It was discovered too late that Ford double counted the 1970 Shelby production by also including all the records in the 1969 data since these cars were all originally 1969 cars. Figures shown here are the true quantities as corrected by Kevin Marti.
