This may be the most famous 135 car of all, having won both its class and stock eliminator honors at the 428 Cobra Jet's inaugural drag racing event (the 1968 NHRA Winternationals) with Al Joniec at the wheel. 8F02R135050 is one of two 135 cars (8F02R135054 is the other) that were entered in the event. Ford documentation describes the car as "Purchased by Rice & Holman prepared by H&M-Stroppe - Long Beach". Other documentation describes it as being picked up from the Wixom assembly plant on January 6, 1968, by Holman & Moody Truck for delivery to Holman & Moody-Stroppe in Long Beach, CA. Well known racer and collector Don Fezell purchased the car in 1995 and commissioned a complete restoration by Randy Delisio. Al Joniec had a chance to drive the car on the drag strip again during the 2008 Cobra Jet Reunion in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
